LOS ANGELES ? Don't be stunned to see a future collaboration between superstar American actress ? and now director ? Angelina Jolie and revered Spanish director Pedro Almodovar.

The two were among attendees at the annual Golden Globes foreign-language seminar on Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, where directors nominated in the category discussed this year's competition.

The entries include Jolie's "In the Land of Blood and Honey," about family strife and abuse of women in Bosnia, and Almodovar's psycho-thriller "The Skin I Live In."

Unlike other celebrities at the event, Jolie surprised reporters by showing up early, relaxed and gracious as she posed for photographers and talked about what inspired her to move behind the camera for "Blood and Honey."

At one point, Jolie half-joked to a Spanish reporter that she was angry with Almodovar because he'd yet to hire her for a role. When Almodovar was given that news by an Associated Press reporter ? within earshot of Jolie ? the actress jumped into the fray.

"I am right here," Jolie noted. "Yes, because you have never given me a job."

"Oh my God," said a flustered Almodovar. "No, no don't worry, you are joining now. Absolutely."

"So one day," Jolie responded, "when all these cameras are gone, we find a film together."

Lebanese held amid terror threat in Bangkok (AP)

BANGKOK ? Thai police were on Friday questioning a Lebanese man with alleged links to Hezbollah militants as the U.S. Embassy warned of a "real and credible" threat of a terrorist attack against American citizens in Bangkok.

The warning comes during a period of heightened tension over U.S. and Israeli responses to the prospect that Iran is going forward with developing nuclear weapons. Lebanon-based Hezbollah, which has been accused of carrying out terrorist attacks in the Middle East since the 1980s, is avowedly anti-Israel and widely considered to act as a proxy for Iran.

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung said Thai authorities received a tip-off before New Year's of a planned attack, which was said to target Israelis.

"At first we were told the Palestinians were behind it but it turned out to be the Hezbollah," he told The Associated Press. He did not say who provided the tip-off.

He said police detained on Thursday a Lebanese suspect with alleged links to Hezbollah.

Thai authorities had been "following two Lebanese men and called in one of them ... for questioning," Chalerm said. "Technically the two men have not committed any crimes under the Thai law, so we could only use the immigration law to keep this one suspect in custody," he said. He was not clear on what happened to the second suspect.

Chalerm spoke hours after the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok sent an "emergency message" to American citizens earlier Friday warning of a possible terrorist attack.

The message said that "foreign terrorists may be currently looking to conduct attacks against tourist areas in Bangkok in the near future." It urged Americans to "keep a low profile" in public and to exercise caution in areas where Western tourists gather.

The statement gave no other details.

Ambassador Kristie Kenney told the AP the threat was "real and very credible." She didn't give any other information.

It was the first U.S. warning of a foreign terror attack in Bangkok in recent memory.

Chalerm said the danger has passed.

"I want to confirm and I am confident that we have the situation under control. And I can guarantee ... no terrorist attacks will be allowed to take place. If they have disagreement, (they should) go fight somewhere else."

Thai Defense Minister Yuthasak Sasiprapa also gave an account of the alleged plot, saying preliminary intelligence suggested that an attack would be carried out between Jan 13 and Jan 15. He told reporters that keeping track of the suspects had been difficult, and if they had not been found by 6 p.m. Friday, there would have been "an escalation of security measures." He did not explain further what that entailed.

Yuthasak said Thai authorities had not released news of the alleged plot because it would hurt the tourist industry and cause panic among the public. He said intelligence reports said the planned attacks might be related to the U.S. activities concerning Iran.

Iran sees possible U.S. complicity in a series of assassinations of its nuclear experts ? the latest Wednesday, when scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was killed by a bomb attached to his car by a passing bicyclist.

Hezbollah, a Shiite Muslim militant group, is the most potent military force in Lebanon, far stronger than even the national army. It is backed mainly by Iran and Syria.

Thailand has rarely been a target for foreign terrorists, although domestic militant Muslim groups are engaged in an insurgency in the country's south and have bombed civilian targets.

In 1994 there was an abortive attempt to bomb the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok. It was abandoned when the driver of the truck, which had been turned into a massive car bomb, fled after a minor traffic accident. Several Iranians were arrested in connection with the attack, but all were eventually released.

There have been several reported plots against the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok in the past two decades, but no attacks.

NEW YORK (AP) ? Through a rap verse, Jay-Z has confirmed the birth of "the most beautiful girl in the world" ? his newborn daughter.

The song "Glory" made its debut on his social website Life and Times on Monday ? two days after he and Beyonce reportedly gave birth to a daughter, Blue Ivy.

Reps for the superstars repeatedly declined requests for comment from The Associated Press about whether the birth had occurred, as first reported by E! News over the weekend. But Jay-Z's sweet song gives fans the details, and more: "You're my child of a child from Destiny's Child."

In the song, Jay-Z talks about where the child was conceived (in Paris) and even reveals that Beyonce had a miscarriage at one point.

"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you'd disappear/But nah baby you magic."

The song's refrain is: "The most amazing feeling I feel/Words can't describe what I'm feeling for real/ Maybe I paint the sky blue/My greatest creation was you. You. Glory."

The sound of a baby's cries ? perhaps Blue's ? ends the song. The song says it features "B.I.C." ? which would be the initials of Blue Ivy Carter.

It's the first child for the power couple, who wed in 2008 in a private ceremony after a years-long courtship. Beyonce announced her pregnancy to the world last August at the MTV Video Music Awards with a simple rub of her swollen belly.

Celebs close to the couple have tweeted congrats. Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, tweeted Sunday morning: "The most beautiful girl in the world," while Beyonce's close friend Gwyneth Paltrow also tweeted: "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already."

The couple reportedly gave birth at Lenox Hill Hospital on New York's Upper East Side on Saturday. While there were reports that the couple paid $1.4 million to rent a floor of the hospital for the birth, hospital spokeswoman Barbara Osborne said Monday that "no patient has the ability to reserve an entire floor of the hospital."

While she refused to confirm or deny that Beyonce had given birth there, she said that like other hospitals, suites are available and can be reserved.

One new mother, Rozz Nash-Coulon, said her twins, born Dec. 28, were in the neonatal unit, and starting Friday, intense security measures were implemented and it was a struggle to see her own children as security guards directed hallway traffic. She said a nurse told them Jay-Z and Beyonce were staying at the hospital.

"Once they checked in there was high security everywhere. It looked like the president was on our floor. The hospital's security cameras were taped over. Internal windows from the hallways into the ward were blacked out," said Nash-Coulon, 38.

Nash-Coulon said she and other parents are trying to mobilize to protest their treatment, which she called "disgusting." But Osborne said she had not heard anything about any complaints. She also could not confirm or deny reports that security cameras were taped over.

As for areas of the hospital being blocked off to some, Osborne said: "I can't specifically talk about that but I can tell you that visitors can be asked to leave a waiting area in our hospital for any number of reasons."

Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi is battling cancer.

The rocker is working with doctors after he was found to have the early stages of lymphoma, a blood cancer which develops in the lymphatic system.?

Black Sabbath issued a statement on Monday telling fans the guitarist is keeping a positive attitude and is "determined to make a full recovery."

The message, posted on the band's Facebook.com page, reads, "With the news that Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time."

"Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan - the IRON MAN of Rock & Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery."

The news comes just two months after Black Sabbath announced plans for a reunion. Iommi's bandmates Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler will now record their new album in the U.K. instead of Los Angeles while Iommi receives treatment for his illness.

And Iommi's rock star friends are already rallying around - guitarist Slash took to Twitter.com shortly after the announcement to write, "Best wishes (sic) for a full recovery to Tony Iommi."

Sony has launched a new range of Walkman-powered personal media players in the Sony Walkman Z1000 series.

The Walkman Z Player runs on Android 2.3, and features Sony's noted S-Master MX digital amplifier to balance noise levels and reduce distortion.

There's also a large 4.3-inch LCD touch screen on offer, and will come in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants depending on how much you want to watch video or store every single song you've ever liked ever.

Smart companies are looking to profits they can earn when state governments clamp down on carbon emissions.

Matthew Wald of the NY Times reports that two companies called SolarReserve and BrightSource are thinking ahead about profits they can earn when state electric utility commissions enact the combined policies of aggressive renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and time of day pricing. ?A RPS of 33% would mean that an electric utility must purchase 33% of its power from renewable sources such as wind and solar. ?If total demand peaks each day at around 3pm and then declines throughout the rest of day gradually , then the price of electricity could soar at around 6pm each day because the sun is no longer shining and solar won't be generating much electricity. ?
