IEEE Computer Society Launches Digital Library Mobile App

Washington, DC -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/14/2012 -- The IEEE Computer Society is offering a free mobile application that will let subscribers to the?Computer Society Digital Library?(CSDL) use their iPads to access the largest and most dynamic collection of digitized computing knowledge in the world.

The IEEE Computer Society CSDL app brings new functionality to the renowned digital library, which provides online access to more than 425,000 articles from 27 peer-reviewed magazines and journals and more than 4,100 conference publications with the latest information on topics such as cloud computing, security & privacy, data mining, augmented reality. Subscribers can quickly view content from the most recent issues, search the entire CSDL to find the most relevant information, and browse all archives by title.

The app?s My Bookmark feature will let iPad users save links to articles of specific interest. With My Library, articles can be stored for easy future use and reading. A Share feature allows users to alert colleagues to must-read articles by posting links to them on Facebook.

?With sales of iPads soaring, we wanted to provide a way for those interested in computing research and trends to access the Digital Library,? said Alain April, IEEE Computer Society Digital Library Operating Committee Chair. ?The CSDL is a great value for anyone involved in computing, and we have a variety of subscription and access models to meet everyone?s needs.?
